Mihye An (Dr. sc. ETH Zurich) is a media theorist and practitioner. Current work focuses on theorizing “Literacies after AI,” with particular attention to the ethical issues arising from Large Language Models (LLMs) and the cultural implications emerging from image generation models. Drawing from posthumanism, digital media theories, and philosophy of language, she examines how sociotechnical artifacts, such as AI chatbots and neural image generators, reshape human meaning-making practices.

Past research (2010-2020) focused on the architectonics of digital spaces: investigating how digital environments mediate (or “nature”) communication and knowledge production.
